Septembers look book is the resort edition. It came with a creamy aqua eye shadow, a lipstick in Jet Set orange, and an highlighter blush due in Ritz and Tropic.
For my base I used a primer and then my favorite foundation, after exfoliating my face and lips. Using a concealer a few shades darker I contoured my nose, under my chin, under my lip and cheekbones.
My eyes I used a primer designed for gel or water based foundations. Then used a flat eye shadow brush I applied the aqua eye shadow to my eye lids. To finish them off I used a dark teal eyeliner and created a cat eye and used volumizing mascara .
Using the blush from the compact I applied it lightly to the apples of my cheeks allowing for a light flush of color. Using the same big fluffy brush I put the highlighter along the top of my cheekbones, top of my nose, right under my eyebrows, and lightly on my chin.
On my lips I used a gel lip primer to help fill in any ripples and cracks and to moisturize. Then added the lipstick liberally saturating my lips with color.
All these products go on very well and are highly pigmented so for a more dramatic look you could ma
ke them bolder simply by applying the products heavier. They also all go on extremely well allowing for blending and for use in other applications.
Such as for mermaid makeup you could easily use the gel shadow along your cheek bones lightly for a slight mint color and mix and match the colors in the kit blending them together for a really awesome mermaid color scheme.
This month from Starlooks we got an illuminating cream, and a blush. Both work beautifully on my olive toned skin.
The blush was a compact that was easy to blend and worked great for contouring. To get the light flush of color I have going on use a large kabuki brush and gently swirl it in the compact . Then tap it into the lid to remove the excess blush. Gently dab it onto your cheeks using a light swirl pattern just on the apple of your cheeks.
I used the illuminating cream for the new trend of strobing, Which is using highlights instead of shadows to contour your face! For the strobing use three small dots of illuminating cream on the outside corner of your eyes the bridge of your nose and two dots under your eyebrows and chin. Use a blending sponge to blend iin to your skin and set with your preferred finishing powder.
For the eyeliner use your favorite liguid liner and start thin on the inner corner fo your eye thickening out till you reach the end. From there wing the liner to go twards the outer point of edge of your eyebrow.
So today I received the Ru Paul Glamazon Kit in the mail today and I have to say that I am IN LOVE! The kit includes 2 eye shadows, one yellow one named “Sunny Side Up” and a blue one called ” Blue Bayou”, a liquid eyeliner in “Black Noir”, a waterproof eyebrow/eye pencil in “Dark Chocolate”, blush in “Dream Girl”, Mascara in “Ultra Black”, and lip gloss in “Diva”.
All of the colors went on smoothly with lots of pigments! I also used one of their foundations, which covered all the flaws on my face! My make up went wash and exfoliate, then face cream. Next was the foundation which I used a large fluffy brush for, then used the same foundation and built it up using a small brush where I needed extra coverage like concealer. Next I used the blush on the apples of my cheeks which gave them a nice shimmer! I used the yellow eye shadow first in the inner corner of my eye lids to the center. Using a blending brush I put the blue eye shadow in the outer crease of my eyelid and blended heavily to meet the yellow and to follow my entire crease. Using the black liquid I started with a very thin line in the inner corner of my eye to a nice thick cat eye at the edge. To get the super thick lashes I did a whole coat over all my lashes then another coat over the outer half and then a final third coat just on the very outside lashes. The lip gloss they sent is nice and thick and glides easily over the lips and gives them a nice ultra full look! This make up kit certainly lives up to its orgins from the original designer Ru Paul and its name Glamazon!
